I'm a 20-something who wants to follow Jesus, help others find him and his Church, and make a positive difference in the world.
Born and raised in the Eugene-Springfield area in Oregon, I first learned about the Bible and encountered Jesus in various Protestant congregations growing up. Through further study of the Scriptures, Church history, theology, and philosophy, I was convinced that the Catholic Church is the Church that Christ founded and the only church with the fullness of truth and means of grace, and thus the Church I had to enter to be a faithful follower of Christ. The spring of my senior year at Wheaton College my wife and I both joined the Church. (Read more of my story here.) In addition to a heart for evangelism and ecumenism, we passionately believe and try to live out Catholic social teaching in its fullness, including an openness to life in marriage ("Why We're Contraception-Free"), the protection of life from conception to natural death, the centrality of marriage and family, care for the poor, defense of worker's rights, and respect for creation.
I live in South St Paul, MN with my lovely wife Krista and two cute kids.

Originally conceived as a question and answer site about the Catholic faith, Aleteia now seeks to be "the news of the world from a Catholic perspective", and is published in six languages. I'm in charge of titling and posting all content on the English edition of the site and manage the English edition's social media. I have also written articles, conducted Google Hangout interviews, and live-blogged events surrounding the 2013 March for Life in Washington DC.
